Against Corruption in Bathinda

           

Responding to the call of the Committee-Youth Campaign Against Corruption-hundreds of students and youth, today, held a protest march in Bathinda city. The committee is jointly formed by Naujwan Bharat Sabha and Punjab Students Union (Shaheed Randhawa) to educate and organize the students and youth against corruption and is supported by ETT Teacher’s Front Punjab. Starting from the Teacher’s Home Bathinda, the march passed through the Arya Samaj chowk (or Bhagat Singh chowk), Mehna chowk and ended in front of the Bus Stand. It is worth mentioning that the young protesters vowed by the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh to continue their struggle against corruption. Students and youth participating in the protest march supported the anti-corruption voice being raised by people at national level and strongly condemned the atrocious attempts by the Government to silence this voice.

            The banners and placards carried by the youth were calling to bring under attack the big corporate houses, elite bureaucrats and ministers, all the parliamentary political parties, new economic policies and multi-national companies as the true source of rampant corruption. The protesters were raising the slogans such as Bhrishtachar lai jimmevaar, vadde corporate te sarkar’(Big corporate and the rulers are the true culprits behind the corruption), ‘Saadi dhart de maal khajane, lutti jande desh bgaane’ (Our wealth is being plndered by Imperialism), ‘Thagg kursia sambhi jande, kaum di daulat manji jande’ (The culprits in power are plundering Nation’s wealth).

            The gathering was addressed by Pavel Kussa, Sumeet Gill and Sarbjeet. While clarifying themselves the speakers said that to demand a strong anti-corruption law is not unjustified in itself. But they cautioned that such laws could be fruitful only if used against the bigger culprits and not the people. This could be guaranteed only by people’s struggle and consciousness. They also said that corruption is being legalized under the New Economic Policies. Hence, the wealth and resources of our country are free for the Imperialist loot, education is being made into a tool to earn huge profits out of students, and contract based employment is exploiting the youth. Any anti-corruption law would prove insufficient against such a legalized corruption. In the end, the speakers called the students and the youth to get organized and fight against the corruption in the field of education and employment. They also demanded the roll back of the black laws recently passed by the Punjab assembly.

ਅੱਜ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਭਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟਸ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਗਠਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਸ ਮਾਰਚ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਮਾਰਚ ਟੀਚਰਜ਼ ਹੋਮ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੌਂਕ, ਮਹਿਣਾ ਚੌਂਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ। ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ  ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਰਨ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮਾਰਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਹੋਏ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁੱਲ ਮੁਲਕ 'ਚ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਉੱਠ ਰਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਪਣਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਜਾਬਰ ਹਥਕੰਡਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜੋਰਦਾਰ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਮਾਰਚ 'ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ 'ਚ ਫੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਾਟੋ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਨਰ, ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਡੇ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਟ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ, ਉੱਚ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਜ਼ੀਰਾਂ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਮੌਕਾਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਵੋਟ ਵਟੋਰੂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਨਿੱਜੀਕਰਨ ਸੰਸਾਰੀਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਟਿੱਕਵੇਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਾਅਰੇ ਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ – ''ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਲਈ ਜੁੰਮੇਵਾਰ, ਵੱਡੇ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਟ ਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ'', ''ਸਾਡੀ ਧਰਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲ ਖਜ਼ਾਨੇ, ਲੁੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਬਿਗਾਨੇ'', ''ਠੱਗ ਕੁਰਸੀਆਂ ਸਾਂਭੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਮਾਂਜੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ''।

ਇਕੱਠ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਵੇਲ ਕੁੱਸਾ, ਸੁਮੀਤ ਗਿੱਲ ਤੇ ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਬੁਲਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਨਾ ਆਵਦੇ ਆਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਲਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਗਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਜੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋਵੇ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਾਮਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਨਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀਕਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਦੇ ਚਲਦਿਆਂ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨ, ਸੋਮੇ ਤੇ ਸਰੋਤ ਦੇਸੀ-ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਖਾਤਰ ਖੁੱਲੇ ਛੱਡੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਨਾਫੇ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਾਧਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦਾ ਠੇਕੇਦਾਰੀਕਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਰਤ ਦੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।  ਉਹਨਾਂ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣ ਰਹੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ 'ਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਇਸ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲਾਮਬੰਦ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਸੈਂਬਲੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਕਾਲੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
